CARDIFF OPEN TO COLLINS EXIT
Posted on June 4, 2022 in James Collins by index
Welsh club Cardiff City are ready to offload out of favour striker James Collins this summer according to the report from Football Insider. It was revealed that English Championship club Cardiff City are prepared to sell the striker after one season at the club. James Collins has not lived up to expectations following his move to the club last summer.
James Collins signed for Cardiff City as a free agent at the start of the just concluded season after his contract at Luton Town came to an end. The attacker ended his four-year stay with Luton Town to sign for Welsh team Cardiff City on a free transfer.
Collins struggled throughout the just concluded English Championship season with a return of just three goals in 26 games. His Welsh team are prepared to listen to offers for the striker who has one year left on his current deal with the Bluebirds. James Collins signed a two-year deal when he left Luton Town to join fellow English Championship team Cardiff City as a free agent. The 31-year-old will leave Cardiff City on a free transfer if they don’t sell him this summer since his contract runs out next summer.
As things stand, James Collins doesn’t figure in the long-term plans of manager Steve Morison and an exit could be the best decision for both parties – the player and the club. A transfer to a new club from Cardiff City will open up the opportunity for the Bluebirds to strengthen their attack, while the player can move to a new club to get more playing time.
James Collins had a good scoring record during his time at Luton Town. He scored 72 goals and 21 assists in 183 appearances for the club. The Cardiff City striker has demonstrated that he’s a regular goalscorer.
