Posted on September 20, 2022 in James Collins by

The Cherries worked away into the final hour of the summer window but no agreement materialised for the winger. Bournemouth’s late move for Southampton winger Nathan Redmond has not culminated in an agreement, it is believed. Dorset Live reported earlier today that the Cherries had mounted a surprise move for the forward in their bid to strengthen their squad ahead of the summer window closing, with the Saints open to letting him leave.

However, the deal proved complicated from the outset. It is said those at the Vitality were not willing to stump up a transfer fee, meaning they were left with one other scenario, which would have seen Redmond’s contract terminated. The arrival of defender Jack Stephens earlier in the day meant that Bournemouth were not able to seal another loan swoop for a player at St Mary’s, as per the rules and restrictions of the market.
